Junior Dragsters Celebrate 25 Years with Great Specialty Events

Returning to the Eighth Mile schedule for the 2017 race season are two of the most popular Junior Drag Racing League events in the Northeast.

Second Race will be JR (6-12) & SR (13-18) racing for NHRA Jr Wally’s. There will be more info including sponsors and prizes to be announced on the website and Facebook pages.
The class winners of the JR/SR classes will also be invited to be on display and race at the NHRA Summernationals as part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration.

The 19th Annual Junior Dragster Halloween Bash on Sunday, October 22ndwill continue the 2 races in 1 day format with special Halloween trophies. First Race will be the traditional A-D age classes. Second Race will be JR (6-12) & SR (13-18) racing for NHRA Jr Wally’s. There will be more info to be announced on the website and Facebook pages.

NHRA Summit Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals

The Eastern Conference Finals will take place July 20-22, 2017 at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, TN. RacewayPark will use the Percentage system to decide how many entries from each class will go. If total entries is 10 and Class A has 10% of the racers, Class B has 30%, Class C has 40%, and Class D has 20%, Raceway Park will send 1 racer from Class A, 3 from Class B, 4 from Class C, and 2 from Class D. The last point’s day for qualifying for the Eastern Conference Finals will be announced, any ties will be run-off. The track will notify racers with a date.  Interest forms will be left at the gate in the weeks prior to the final qualifying date to help speed up the process of getting the team together.  When you receive one of these forms, please fill it out and bring it to the tower to let us know whether or not you are interested in attending the race.

NHRA Division 1 Jr. Drag Racing Championships

The Northeast Division Championships will be held at Numidia Dragway in Catawissa, PA on August 11-12, 2017.  All racers signed up for points by Sunday July 9 are eligible to compete in this event.  All racers will be responsible to contact Raceway Park Office by 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 10th, 2017 to state whether they will be competing in the Northeast Division Championships. If you are not on a track roster, you cannot compete at the event. You must pre-register with payment before deadline.

There will be occasions when the number of rounds in each of the four eliminators will be unequal.  This will make it impossible to fairly crown an overall track champion based on the highest overall number of points earned. The overall track champion for the Northeast Division Championships will be determined by a King of the Hill style runoff. The King of the Hill style runoff of these 4 first place racers will be held on a date decided by management.

For Your Information:

For parents that run a full sized car and also help their son or daughter with a Junior Dragster; have no fear, the track will give you plenty of time to spare; keep those ATV’s fueled up however, as there will be some extra running between the two tracks. Please keep the 1/8th Mile Track Officials advised of your 1/4 mile track status.

NOTE: Any racer, guardian or crew members, who show unsportsmanlike conduct, i.e. foul language, physical violence and the like, are subject to disqualification at the management’s discretion.
