Long time Raceway Park racer and dear friend to all, “Hemi” Herb Siesing, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 16 after a courageous battle with his illness with his loving wife Karen and devoted son Scott by his side.

Herb loved racing at Raceway Park, was successful in many classes and won the Trophy Stock championship in 2010 thanks to long time sponsor Torch Light Motors in Parlin, NJ. Perhaps Herb’s greatest moment at Raceway Park was when he proposed to Karen in 1976. Competing with his son Scott in the inaugural Jr. Dragster Race Series in 1993 led to many lifelong, wonderful friendships. Another of Herb’s favorites was the annual Mopars at E’town, where we all had the pleasure of listening to Herb on the p.a. system as he shared his knowledge of the event with all of us. The Siesing family is forever grateful to Vinny Napp, the entire Napp Family and Raceway Park.

Friends may visit with Karen and Scott at Laurel Funeral Home, 201 Laurel Avenue, Keansburg, NJ on Wednesday 7 pm – 9 pm and Thursday 2 pm – 4 pm & 7 pm – 9 pm. The funeral mass will be held Friday at 10:15 am at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, 311 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, NJ. Herb will be laid to rest at Shoreland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Route 35 North, Hazlet, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, checks payable to Scott Siesing and mailed to Raceway Park, 230 Pension Road, Englishtown, NJ 07726.
