Bringing Along the kids?
Here’s how to make the most of your day at Raceway Park!
Spending a day or night at Raceway Park offers one of the most affordable and exciting ways to partake in family activities in NJ. However, there are a few things to be mindful of that will ensure your time at the racetrack is thoroughly enjoyable for you and the younger race fans you bring with you.
Sunscreen — A day at the races—especially in the late spring or summer—can involve an extended amount of time sitting under a hot sun. Make sure you have sunscreen and head protection to avoid the dreaded “lobster look!”
Ear Protection — Top Fuel Dragsters, Jet Cars, and Funny Cars can create a large amount of noise when their engines are at full throttle. While this is part of the excitement of the show, you must take proper precautions to protect both your and your child’s hearing. You may bring earplugs or earmuffs or get them at the track for minimal cost.
Arrive Early — Arrive early and take some time to visit the pit areas, get something to eat or drink, and take in the ambiance of the track. You’ll enjoy your day at our premier New Jersey motorsports park more and you’ll keep your younger race fans relaxed and focused on the races. Another benefit to arriving early is seeing the “quieter” cars run first, and then working your way up to the louder Top Fuels, Funny Cars and Top Alcohols that come later.
Get Educated — Because every ticket is a pit pass, the entire family can meet the drivers up-close in the pit area and ask questions about the vehicles they are preparing for the event. Also pay attention to the announcers. They offer lots of information and insight as to how a race was won or lost.
Follow these basic tips and you’ll see why a day or night spent at Raceway Park is regarded as one of the most exciting things to do in NJ with kids!
